Independent validation
A company assessing its own technology proves very little. HERU has been put in front of independent parties — an environmental consultancy that advises government, a major UK utility, and a public sector procurement framework.
Ricardo Energy & Environment
Ricardo were commissioned to examine the environmental performance of the HERU across its full lifetime, and to compare it against two conventional alternatives: co-mingled collections sorted at a materials recovery facility, and kerbside sorting.
Ricardo Energy & Environment is part of Ricardo plc, a British engineering consultancy which also advises UK government departments on environmental matters.
Severn Trent
Technical trials were undertaken with Severn Trent, one of the largest water utilities in the United Kingdom. The purpose was to establish performance under real operating conditions rather than laboratory ones, and technical validation was proven.
NHS Shared Business Services
HERU is listed on the NHS Shared Business Services framework as an approved supplier, which allows NHS trusts and other public bodies to procure through an established route.
